In the last half of 2022 and the first half of 2023, the cybersecurity landscape saw a significant increase in the variety and quantity of cyberattacks and their consequences (ENISA, 2023). According to the same report, the main threats identified and analyzed were:
Ransomware.
Malware.
Social engineering;
Threats against data;
Threats against availability: Denial of service;
Threats against availability: Threats to the Internet;
Manipulation and interference of information;
Supply chain attacks.
In an increasingly digital and globalized world, maintaining information security is increasingly important. The credibility of organizations is called into question when they are victims of attacks. Therefore, the importance of security includes:
Protection of sensitive data;
Preservation of reputation;
Preventing cyber attacks;
Ensuring business continuity;
Protection of intellectual property;
Effective incident response, etc.
